To start with whenever I ask the question “Who do you say that Israel is?” 99% of individuals will say that the actual Jews are Israel. Some will say the country in the Middle East that is always fighting the Arabs, that’s something that folks say all the time. Many will say Jacob in the Old Testament; they do know a little about their bibles, they will say that his name was changed to Israel. Some will say the cathedral, that’s the top four hottest responses when I asked the question who is Israel to them, and then lastly number five is Followers in general. First of all there are common myths and one of them may be the belief that the Jewish people were the chosen people in the Old Testament. I grew up knowing that and even taught that. But this is just what I used to teach the Jewish people were your chosen people and yes it was always unpleasant for me because I did not quite understand when i state the chosen men and women, what did the phrase “chosen people” mean? Are they still chosen people today? And just how did that all fit in? And what if they don’t believe in Jesus?
I’m Jim Staley. It is my heart’s desire that you will be challenged and transformed through the materials and resources that are in this article. Whether its about Jewish holidays, the sabbath day, or the meaning of Easter, we want you to know the truth because the truth will only do one thing!
Funeral Traditions And Rituals
Funerals around the world are characterized by a many traditions and rituals. Funeral provides an opportunity to the family of the deceased to pray for his soul and learn to cope with their loss and sorrow.
Church rules regulate the rites of funerals in Christian communities. However, there are more than 200 different factions of Christianity that have their own different customs and rituals relating to the funeral service.
The first most important ritual in a Christian funeral is known as the wake, which is conducted before the actual funeral service and where the deceased is watched the entire night and psalms are recited to pray for the dead. According to present-day standards, this is the moment when relatives and close friends can pay their last respects to the deceased person. The body is preserved and placed either at the house or in a Church with only a specified number of visiting hours. In olden days, the deceased used to be absolved of his sins of his earthly existence by carrying out the process of absolution after wake. This involved placing a cross on the deceased’s chest and offertory in the casket, where gifts offered were kept.
Then comes the actual service itself, where the dead is first carried to the Church in a vehicle and prayers from the Bible are recited and hymns are sung in the church. Then, the priest requests a dear friend or family member to give a eulogy or tribute to the departed’s life. Some communities have chiming of the bells as an integral part of the tradition that marks the end of ceremony. After the funeral service, the casket is taken to the burial site where a burial service is held before the act of burial.
Finally, the funeral’s end is marked by a lunch organised for the family members and those present at the funeral ceremony. The primary objective of such customs is to provide support to the mourning family and assist them to overcome their grief and accept the fate.

The Issue Of Polygamy Behind The Mormon Church – LDS Ideas
For any individual that thinks the Mormon religion is small and insignificant they are very surprised to find out that it is fact the sixth largest religion recognized in the majority of the world particularly in the United States. One thing you will most likely find that at some point in time you’re going to run into a Mormon missionary who is going to talk about their beliefs as they are quite zestful in their recruitment. Most often when people think of the Mormons they automatically linked them to polygamy. It should be remembered in fairness to the Mormons about polygamy in the current day of age is not practiced. That is not to say that perhaps years ago that it didn’t exist. Rumor has it that that particular part of the doctrine was changed when government officials were considering taking action.
It should also be mentioned that only 1% of the church in the beginning of the Mormon church actually practiced polygamy and they also considered the spiritual marriages not necessarily what we consider marriage here on earth.
Although many stand in judgment of polygamy and in many countries it is not allowed it should be remembered that in the Islam religion their holy book being the Koran does allow a man to have up to five wives. Now this is only allowable if he is able to treat them all the same and provide equally for each of them. It is said that if one were to go back in the early Jewish doctrine that even then polygamy was encouraged and then for the sole purpose to increase their membership.
So it is often wondered why any time that the subject of polygamy comes up why it is only the Mormons that become the topic of conversation. This is most probably due to the fact that the media has played up the polygamy aspect of the Mormon religion. It must also be remembered that there are many groups that practice polygamy under the misconception off claiming to be Mormons when it is very specific that the Mormon church banned polygamy and it is most definitely not part of their doctrine as of today. In fact any member found practicing polygamy is automatically excommunicated from the Mormon church. So one has to really put the blame here for keeping polygamy and the Mormons in the same category on the media and not the practices of the Mormon religion.
When it comes to marriage it should be remembered also that the Mormons have a little bit of a different look at what marriage really means in the Mormon religion and marriage is considered a sealing that lasts for all eternity. This is in reference to once death occurs and they move on to one of the three heavens the marriage continues.

Tithing – Starting Your Stream Of Enchanting Encounters
Chronicle of Tithing
The beginning of tithing can be seen in the Bible, yet many Christians as well as non-Christians have the habit of doing some type of tithing today.
Tithe is a traditionally a Christian term that means to contribute one tenth of your income to charity or to your Church as a form of Chrch giving. However it has similarities with practices in other religious cultures. In Islam it is called ‘Zakat’. In India the Sikh religion also provides for such practice called ‘Dasvandh’ meaning one-tenth part of income to be devoted for religious purposes. Tenth Master Guru Gobind Singh started this practice. In Classical Indian society the Upanisads and the Bhagavadgita commend ‘true alms’ given with a sense of duty in a fit place and at a fit time to a deserving person from whom one expects nothing in return.
The word tithe is derived from the Hebrew word ‘asair’, which means to give the tenth part of something, often of a person’s income. Today, tithes (or tithing) are normally voluntary and paid in cash. However, there are still European countries that allow the church to mandate tithing and enforce it by law.
Denmark is an example where members of the Church of Denmark pay a church tax, which varies between municipalities. The tax is generally around 1% of the taxable income. And in Finland members of state churches pay a church tax of between 1% and 2.25% of income and the Church taxes are integrated into the common national taxation system.
Anyway the custom of regular tithes was not instituted until after Exodus. Tithes were popular all across the Near East in olden days, as well as in later Lydia, Carthage and Arabia.
The Hebrew habit of tithing is recorded in the Bible, the first mention being the gift from Abraham to the Canaanite priest and king Melchizedek (Genesis–:20). Ancient Arabia, Lydia and Carthage were places where the custom of tithes existed. Tithing was implemented by the early Christian church, and had found mention in councils at Macon in 585 and at Tours in 567. They were granted formal recognition during the time of Pope Adrian I in 787.
Tithing in certain Christian churches is a disputed issue as it deals with an Old Testament process to a New Testament institution (the Church). There is no proof in the New Testament that tithing can be applied to Christians. In fact, it was obligatory only on those Jews who were living in the Promised Land to pay the tithe according to the Old Testament, as it was in reality a form of income tax required to support not just the government of the Israel of the Old Testament, but also its religious institutions and priests.
Manifest A New Life Using The Cosmic Ordering Service
Thanks to a recent spike in publicity, the last few years have seen an ever growing number of people showing an interest in the cosmic ordering service. Additionally, many are now realizing the potential benefits.
With many celebrity endorsements, now it seems everyone wants a piece of the action. But does it only work for celebrities? What chance does the average person have of successfully using the cosmic ordering service?
The fact of the matter is it can work for everyone. However, if you have tried and not had any success then you should look deeper. The chances are you were subconsciously preventing yourself from obtaining the things you desire.
The right to use the cosmic ordering service belongs to one and all, allowing everybody to get what they desire. Of course some people will point out that they have never had a desire to be ill or in financial difficulty and admittedly, they are right.
The problem is not the cosmic ordering service, but rather the way you channel your desires. Avoid saying things such as; I really don’t want to get ill. This is a negative manner in which to seek your desires.
You should aim to seek desires from a more positive aspect so, instead of what you don’t want, rather desire what you do want. For example, you could say, I’m so healthy it’s of little wonder that I never get ill.
This is the area that many fail when they make affirmations or attempt to think positive. They see themselves as they are, not as they could be, and reaffirm their station in life instead of affirming the spot they should be and believing they are already received their cosmic order.
When we first started out in this life, we believed in ourselves. Now, it is only because of nasty experiences we’ve had along the way, that we’ve abandoned our self belief.
When children ask us for things, we often reprimand them, saying it’s bad to always ask. If they receive a lot of goods, we tell them it’s bad and that they are being spoilt. The truth is though; children should be brought up believing they can have everything they want because they deserve it.
