What is a Special Needs Child?

Parents who have children with special needs will face a unique set of challenges, in addition to the already challenging profession of parenthood. While caring for children is hard work in the short term – eventually, you can expect them to be old enough to take care of themselves as young adults – with a special needs child, the future is uncertain and this assurance is often void.
How to Find Support
Particularly for parents of a special needs child or children, raising a child can be a frustrating, stressful, and isolating task that is only doubled when a disability is in the family. Perhaps the most important thing you can do for yourself is to find support – both as a parent, and as a person – to help you. By taking care of yourself, you can help your family, too.
Find a Support Group
Parents can eliminate their feelings of isolation by seeking a support group that specializes in special needs services. Support groups can be found the entire country over and can vary from groups for the mother and child, the parents only, and more – you can even find support groups online where you can network, ask questions, and talk with others who are in your position. With an online group, you can seek out people to empathize with you whenever you need it most, wherever you happen to be. Finding a support group that works specifically with families of children with special needs is particularly important: getting support from ordinary families isn’t likely to be as helpful as a specialized group, since they haven’t been through the experiences you have and may not fully grasp your situation.

We’re typically encouraged to shoot for balance in our lives, as though it were some thing we required to catch, like an elusive prey, constantly ducking out of sight, just like we get within reach.
In the familiarized child’s game “Tag”, if I’m the last individual to mention “Not it!”, it then becomes my aim to catch someone else so as not to be it any longer. Well, what goes on when we are “it”? Everyone else goes out. And when we run after after them, they run around similar to maniacs striving not to get captured. That is the nature of the game, right?
Well, contemplate for a moment what could occur when we were playing tag and I were it, and I made my move to chase then just set down on the ground? Rather quickly you’d recognize I was no longer pursuing, and you also would certainly stop running, you could possibly look at the others and shrug. One might say, “What’s up with her? Hey, are you all right?” If I lay there, long and still enough, sooner or later you would start to come closer, warily in the beginning, but you would come. Probably, one of you would be so concerned that I had encountered some physical trauma you would bend down to check my vitals. And then, I’d nab you! Ha! Well, you might say, “That’s cheating!”, and you will be right, concerning the policies of Tag.
You might recall a period out of your youth if you set your sights on the girl or boy who hit your fancy. If you knew precisely what you were doing, you played it cool, dropping subtle hints here and there, waiting with consideration to determine if you had piqued the interest of the intended, permitting him or her to come to you. Many of us, even so, were not patient enough for that strategy, in the game of love, so we laid chase, in hot pursuit of our heart’s desire. I don’t know about yourself, however when I employed that tactic, unavoidably, my crush went running in the complete opposite direction.
That’s why, when we run after or perhaps follow something, the effects is that it is something that we lack. If we lay chase, what ever it is we’re after is going to run away. That is the nature of predator and prey.
