Tooth paste and tooth brush does a really good and safe job.

I use effervescent denture cleaning tablets to clean mine. I figure it is suitable to clean something that goes in your mouth, it should be gentle enough for jewelry. I let it set overnight, then rinse. No need to scrub and take the chance at scratching the jewelry and the bubbles get between the links in gold and silver chains and around and under ringstone settings.

household amonia and an old toothbrush. This is what I use and gets mine sparkling clean.

For silver, toothpaste is the best option. The peroxide safely cleans and polishes the surface, but make sure it’s wiped off all that way or else it will look foggy. I use it with a rag and old toothbrush because it’s softer and doesn’t scratch it up.
Do NOT use dish soap because it will break down the elements. Baking soda does not work as well on my silver, but others swear by it.
Can’t think of a gold solution, but if I can remember, I’ll let you know.
