Treppenlift

Treppenlift popularly known as Stair lift, is a lift arrangement made to transport a person between different floor levels. The treppenlift is gaining increasing popularity as it offers a certain amount of independence and dignity to aged and disabled people.

The earlier versions of treppenlift have greatly been improvised upon to include other features like cozier chairs with arm rest and foot stools. Safety devices like seat belts and sensors have also found its way in newer versions of the treppenlift giving better security while using these lifts. Modern stair lifts may also have a ‘perch’ (a platform to stand on) instead of a seat for the benefit of users (generally senior citizens with knee problem) who prefer a standing position during transportation.

Straight stair lifts can be purchased directly from any reliable manufacturer. However curved stair lifts used mainly for spiral staircases will need to be custom built depending on the individual designs of the stair case where it is to be used. Treppenlift for the other common type of staircase – the ‘L’ shaped one can also be bought directly from a manufacturer and needs no special configuration. However, in all cases it is best to seek out the advice of a professional for installation.

AC stair lift and DC stair lift refer to treppenlift with distinctive power sources. AC stair lifts run on normal electric power whereas the DC stair lifts refer to lifts powered by battery packages. Treppenlift kosten(cost) and power availability determines which one to opt for as frequent power shut down will affect the regular use of these lifts unless they are powered by batteries.

‘Treppenlift kosten’ of basic standard models will be around $2000.00. However basic simple straight lifts are available at a cost as less as $2000.00. Obviously the custom built stair lifts designed especially for curved stair cases cost higher. Battery powered lifts are higher priced than electric ones and will also incur an additional cost of around $100.00 every 12 months while replacing batteries.

For the price conscious it will be a relief to know that many dealers usually offer to buy back used stair lifts when no longer in use. Such stair lifts are resold in the second user markets at cheaper rates. Such offers are available only for straight stair lifts which are a standard design and can be re-used in any other straight stair cases.
